Collaborative Learning at its Best at the SmartSimple Spring Community Conference

It’s officially spring, and that means the SmartSimple Spring Community Conference 2016 is only a few weeks away. SmartSimple community conferences offer a unique experience for both clients and the SmartSimple team to come together for a day of engaging conversation, learning opportunities and networking with peers in your industry. Gain insights from other SmartSimple users, share ideas for enhancements and meet your peers from across the United States and Canada.

Get On the Right Track


Based on your feedback, we decided to expand this year’s conference to include more targeted sessions and client participation. In addition to adding more ways to get to know other SmartSimple clients, we’ve expanded the scope of topics, increased the number of sessions and created two SmartSimple user tracks.

General User Track

Industry-specific sessions for system best practices and usage


This user track will be broken down into industry-specific sessions for non-developers and IT users. Grants managers, administrators, research managers and executives will benefit from the Grants Management sessions. Medical case managers, insurance professionals and IMEs can take advantage of targeted Case Management sessions that focus on their unique industry.

“We’ll be covering a range of insightful topics for the General User Track, including a client-led presentation by representatives from Toronto Arts Council. They'll be sharing their stories on how SmartSimple has streamlined their processes at 3:00 PM within the Grants Management-specific sessions,” says Sarah Harris, Director, Client Support and Operations.

“For our case management clients, we have two sessions,” says Brian Lai, Senior Business Analyst.

“The first one will cover new and upcoming platform enhancements that can be leveraged by IMEs and insurers. We’ll then open the floor to attendees, asking how they use CMS360°, what new features they’d like to see, and where they’d like us to take the SmartSimple platform.

We’ll also be hosting a session on recent and upcoming HCAI enhancements so we can prepare clients for changes coming in 2016.

"Our goal for the end of the day is to give everyone a better understanding of how others in their industry use the platform and how they can integrate these best practices into their own business processes,” says Brian Lai.

Technical User Track

Platform-specific sessions intended for a technical audience


The second user track we created is for the unique needs of system administrators, IT staff and developers. This is the perfect opportunity for technical users to work directly with the people who build and configure SmartSimple. Not only will you gain valuable insight into what makes the platform tick, you’ll also have the chance to share your feedback and take a look at ways to make your system perform better for your users.

“Our goal for this track is to show technical users how to better leverage SmartSimple for both greater value and easier maintenance. Three major platform enhancements from recent upgrades will be covered extensively and we’ll showcase a range of use cases and walk through how you can deliver them to your organization,” says Serkan Bilgi, Systems Solutions Architect and one of our technical track presenters.

In addition, Chin Chuah, Systems and Infrastructure Controller and Oliver Lo, Director of Software Development, will also be talking about the new SmartConnect RESTful API. During this session you’ll learn all how our JSON-based API works and challenge developers to come up with their own system integrations while discussing relevant use cases.”

Hosted by the Conference Board of Canada, the event took place at the Hilton in Toronto, Canada. The theme for this inaugural event was Delivering Meaningful Impact.
